The Dr. Waterman
Residence
Bungalow Heaven
840 North Michigan Avenue
Pasadena, California
91104
This updated and restored 1907 Craftsman is known
as the Dr. Waterman House in Bungalow Heaven. Dr.
Waterman was a personal physician to the Vanderbilts.
On a lot-and-a-half totaling 11,025 square feet,
there's plenty of room for entertaining, and your
imagination. Details include a wraparound arroyo
stone chimney, keyhole rafter tails, a prominent
clinker brick and stone fireplace, newly refinished
oak floors, and a chateau-style vaulted living room.
The oversized dining room has a built-in buffet with
uniquely patterned leaded glass cabinets. The public
spaces retain the never-painted woodwork and built-ins,
with a flexible, open floorplan. The new kitchen
features period details and modern conveniences,
and opens to a new exotic hardwood dining deck just
outside. A stunning new Craftsman-style fence enhances
colorful landscaping. The garage has a workshop, room for storage, maybe a home
office. Bungalow Heaven, "come for the architecture,
but stay for the people". Click below for a Building
